Western North Carolina
From the East we have the Atlantic Ocean presenting miles of beaches to enjoy, from the South we have South Carolina and Georgia, from the West we have Tennessee, and from the North there is Virginia. In the middle of all this we have North Carolina, a place that was named in honor of Charles I of England and birthplace of our 11th (James K Polk) and 17th (Andrew Johnson) Presidents of the United States. North Carolina is also home to the “Research Triangle” composed of the University of North Carolina, North Carolina State University, and Duke University three great schools.
North Carolina is not only known for these great people and places, but also for things such as having a generally mild climate, some of the most amazing views the Great Smoky Mountains have to offer along with it's abundant wildlife, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We also have numerous historical sites such as the Old Salem Restoration in Winston Salem, Fort Raleigh National Historic Site on Roanoke Island, the Wright Brothers National Memorial at Kitty Hawk, the Guilford Courthouse and Moores Creek National Military Parks, just to name a few. North Carolina and the Smoky Mountains also offer many other popular things like numerous hiking trails, Biking, Golfing, Fishing, and Camping, it really doesn’t matter what your interests are North Carolina has something for everyone.
