JUNE 2010
11 - 30: Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales
Sidewalks of downtown. Live entertainment mini-performances featuring costumed musical performers, storytellers and artisans portraying various time periods from the 1800s to today. 6 p.m. nightly. A horse-drawn wagon carries the performers down the Parkway to their designated locations for the evening. Fourteen nightly acts involve the audience as they each perform in simultaneous 15-minute performances.

1 - 31: Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales
All summer long visitors can meet characters, hear mountain music and learn about life in the Smoky Mountains on the streets of Gatlinburg. Storytellers, musicians and cloggers perform at different locations along the Parkway every evening during this fifth annual event! Designated a Top 20 event by Southeast Tourism Society. 3-4: Fourth of July Midnight Parade
Giant helium balloons, more than 100 float entries and family fun! National entries such as Schwan Foods and Red Baron Pizza will bring in their Blaine Kern-designed floats.
4: River Raft Regatta
River Road, ending at the Aquarium bridge in downtown Gatlinburg. Unmanned river raft race is open to anything floatable except balls and plastic eggs. Registration takes place between 11 am and Noon, with the race beginning promptly at Noon.
4: Fourth of July Fireworks Show
After the sun goes down on the fourth, the sky will light up again with showers of sparks and fireworks.
16 - 24: Gatlinburg's Craftsmen Fair
Over 200 booths featuring some of the nation's finest work. Artisans on hand to demonstrate their skills, answer questions, and offer their unique art for sale. Live bluegrass and country music. 865-436-7479.

15-Nov 15: Fall Foliage in the Smokies
Peak color season in the Smokies occurs during the fall but it is hard to pick an exact date. You can contact the Park Service closer to the fall to get a better idea of when the best time is to come see the Smokies. (865) 436-1200
17 - 30: Smoky Mountain Harvest Festival
Hayrides, entertainment, events, decorations! Fall in the Smokies is awesome!
23: A Taste of Autumn
Gatlinburg Convention Center - Gatlinburg's finest restaurants come out to raise money for a good cause and attendees get to sample some amazing food. The cost is $25 and the money goes to the United Way.
25-26: Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament
The 11th Annual Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament is open to adults or children – and equally challenging for both visitors and locals, with multiple categories to be contested in this largest trout tournament in the Smokies. 7-23: Gatlinburg Craftsmen's Fair
More than 200 artists and crafts people come out to show off their best. Lasting almost the full month of October this is one of the biggest longest running craft shows in the southeast. Get your Christmas shopping done early. Gatlinburg Convention Center - $5 admission

10: Winter Magic Kickoff & Chili Cook-off
As the City turns on thousands of lights to celebrate the season you can follow your nose to downtown Gatlinburg and a chili cook-off. Chili booths and vendors are located all around downtown Gatlinburg.
10 - 30: Trolley Ride of Lights
Jump in a trolley for a tour of the beautiful Christmas lights. The tours have a guide and you will have a great time hearing stories and singing carols. Great way to start the holiday season.
10 - 30: Gatlinburg Winter Magic
The town is decorated, the shops are warm and inviting. Gatlinburg is a wonderful place to spend the holidays. From food to family fun Gatlinburg Winter Magic has earned its reputation as one of the big winter events in the south.
11: Veteran's Day Celebration
Hosted at the Ripley's Aquarium Plaza there will be tributes to our nation's veterans. Stirring speeches, stories and songs will warm the hearts of all who hear them.
23 - 30: Holiday Arts & Crafts Show
This craft show is put on by the Great Smokies Arts & Crafts Community. Fine arts and crafts from right here in the Smoky Mountains. Instead of going to their shops on Glades Road and Buckhorn Road, visit them all under one roof at the Gatlinburg Convention Center.
23 - 27: Festival of Trees
At the W L Mills Conference Center, this event is being put on by the Smoky Mountain Area Rescue Ministries. See dozens of ornately decorated trees.
26 & 27: The Nutcracker "Sweet"
The Smoky Mountain Dance Theater Company presents the classic Nutcracker at the W L Mills Auditorium. Performances are at 7pm nightly. Call (865) 680-7369 for tickets and information.
26 & 27: Winter Magic Tunes & Tales
Much like the summer edition of Tunes & Tales, the performers take to the streets of Gatlinburg. Stories, song and demonstrations make for great entertainment. The entertainers come out in the evenings on Fridays and Saturdays.

Enjoy a guided trolley tour of Gatlinburg Winter Magic lighting displays. Departure is from the Ripley’s Aquarium Trolley Station. Group reservations are available. Trolley leaves at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30. (GSE) Tickets on sale October 15. (865) 436-0535

3: Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade
Giant helium balloons, marching bands and decorated floats will parade down the streets of Gatlinburg. The spectators will pack the streets and cheer as they wait to see the guest of honor: Santa Claus.
TBA: Christmas on Ice
At Ober Gatlinburg the like to celebrate Christmas a little differently. They like to put it on ice. Local amateur ice skaters performing to Christmas music and it is free. This is a great holiday tradition. For more information contact Ober Gatlinburg at 865/436-5423.
31: New Year's Eve Ball Drop & Fireworks
The street party scene cranks up at around 11pm on Wednesday, December 31st. There will be close to 40,000 people on hand to ring in the New Year. At midnight the sky will light up with fireworks!
